She wanted hoppers for breakfast, he wanted granola. So they made Muvs.

WE ARE

Joey

Muvs’ head chef, strategy and operations guru.

Following a decade in commercial finance, Joey sharpened his knife skills and set to work perfecting recipes for Muvs’ dishes with a mathematical accuracy.

Joey’s calm, warm and generous personality is the backbone of the Muvs ethos.

KRISHANTHI

Muvs’ marketing and branding whizz; trained in hospitality at a 5* hotel in Paris.

A photographer and self-proclaimed foodie, Krishanthi wanted to bring together the two colliding worlds of her upbringing in a London setting:

modern British + chilled Sri Lankan.

And so Muvs was born.

THE GOAL

A neighbourhood cafe, RETAIL and pop-up space in Tooting

Inspired by our dual heritage, travels to sunny climes around the world and the belief that social community is everything - Muvs is a relaxed neighbourhood hangout space at the slow end of Tooting High Street. And that suits us just fine.

The Muvs ethos is heavily influenced by the farm-to-table simplicity of island life: a focus on sourcing ingredients close to home where possible, and minimising single-use items, in and out of the kitchen.

Pre-orders for supper clubs, “Jars” and workshops (when they launch, eventually) ensure minimal food waste - an important part of the Muvs lifestyle.

The original - and end - goal for Muvs is to serve a small but interesting all-day brunch menu, alongside independent coffee and wines, and brunch faves like açaí, hoppers and granola; our nod to beach life around the world.

We signed the lease for the first Muvs site in Tooting at the end of 2022, so you’re here just in time to catch what happens next.

This is just the beginning.
